What's new

What changed, and when.

Every change a client or a visitor can see, dated. Fixes are listed too, with what was wrong.

  • New

We run the check on ourselves. Our own report counts how many answers name FoundByName, every week, whatever it shows.

  • New

The plan price applies from the first month. The $1 first month is gone: at that price we did less of the work, so it was a poor way to see what we do.

  • New

The refund rule now sits on the pricing page: if a paid page is not live within five business days and the delay is ours, that month is refunded.

  • Fixed

Assistants sometimes name a business by its owner's name rather than the business name. Before an email says a business was not named, we now read its website for the people who work there and match those names too.

  • New

A free AI crawler check: type a website and see which AI robots its robots.txt file lets in.

  • New

Reports now list the sites assistants cited in answers that named other businesses, and never in one that named you.

  • New

Reports and the client space show what ChatGPT says about your phone number, address, website and hours, next to your Google listing.

  • New

A page of dated facts for AI assistants, and an llms.txt file.

  • New

How it works now says how each assistant is asked: through its official API, with web search on.

  • New

The free check works for any business and any line of work, in any city.

  • New

Clients can pause billing for a month, or move to a smaller plan, from their account.

  • Fixed

When Claude wrote its list of businesses as sentences instead of a list, our reader missed names. Every market was read again from the saved answers.

  • New

Claude joined ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini in every market we scan. Each city and line of work now has twenty answers.

  • New

The client space was rebuilt: results, your page, your listings and your plan, each on its own screen.

  • New

Visits from AI crawlers to the pages we publish for clients are now recorded.

  • New

Each market page shows where the assistants looked, right after who they named.

  • Fixed

Our robots.txt kept search engines and AI robots away from the client pages we publish. Those pages are open to them now.

  • Fixed

Our reader skipped some real business names, such as names starting with a common word. Every market was read again from the saved answers.

  • Fixed

A dentist named two ways in the same city was counted as two businesses. The two names are now merged.

  • New

After checkout, clients create an account with a password and reach their client space from the Log in link.

  • New

The Name Check opened: a free report of which businesses AI assistants name in your city, answer by answer.
